Victoria records one new local COVID-19 case

Victoria has reported one new locally acquired case of COVID-19, with eight other positives recorded in hotel quarantine.

The new locally acquired case is a primary close contact who has been quarantining throughout their infectious period, according to Victoria Health officials.

In the past 24 hours, 10,921 vaccine doses were administered and 16,290 Victorians were tested.

Most restrictions have now been lifted in Melbourne, including a rule banning people from travelling 25km from home.

Public gatherings now allow up to 20 people.People at home can have two visitors per day, plus dependents.

However some businesses still can’t open.
