Victoria has recorded one new local COVID-19 case as the state prepares to further ease restrictions tonight.

The new locally-acquired case is a known primary close contact who has been quarantining throughout their infectious period, Victorian health authorities said.

There were 22,812 test results received yesterday, and 17,803 doses of vaccine were administered at state-run sites.

New restriction levels will come in effect at midnight, effectively bringing metropolitan Melbourne in line with regional Victoria on all restrictions except for density caps in venues.

Across Victoria, public gatherings will be allowed with up to 50 people, and up to 15 people will be able to visit a home per day.

The number of people allowed in offices will increase to 75 per cent of capacity, or 30 people, whichever is greater.

Up to 25,000 people will be able to attend AFL matches at the MCG, and 15,000 people will be allowed at the A-League Grand Final at AAMI Park.
