Here’s a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction’s latest COVID-19 statistics today — Monday, May 23.

Victoria

There have been another five COVID-19 deaths across Victoria.

There are 555 cases in hospital, with 29 of them in intensive care and eight of whom are requiring ventilation.

Authorities confirmed today that there were 8,971 new cases and that Victoria has 72,370 active cases.

We thank everyone who got vaccinated and tested yesterday.

Our thoughts are with those in hospital, and the families of people who have lost their lives.

New South Wales

The state has recorded five more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 1,236 cases in hospital, 35 of those are in intensive care. 

Today authorities confirmed there were 7,178 new cases.
