Nationality: Unquestionable – Cypriots. Romioi. Greek-Australians

28 March, 2019
On 19 March 2019, the Melbourne University Greek Association Melbourne, in collaboration with the Macquarie University Greek Association Sydney, launched Yannis Dramitinos’ Nationality: Unquestionable at the Kudos Gallery in Sydney.

Our collaborative exhibition was presented as part of the 37th Annual Greek Festival of Sydney.

The exhibition was launched in Melbourne at the Steps Gallery on the 25th of February 2019 before heading up to Sydney.

This ground breaking exhibition presented three aspects of Greek identity through the work of photographer and journalist Yannis Dramitinos, who explored Cypriots, Romioi and Greek-Australians in his work.
The extended version of Melbourne’s exhibition featured photographs from the famous Halki Theological School, the old city of Nicosia and the Greek community in Sydney’s suburbs.

This was the first collaboration between University Greek Associations from Melbourne and Sydney in decades.

We would like to thank Yannis Dramitinos for his astonishing photography and the Macquarie University Greek Association for their friendship and support. We also thank the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria and the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales for their generous support.
