Manasis School of Greek dance and Culture

17 March, 2020

To our beloved community,

I regret to inform you that as a result of the increased and heightened risk involved with the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), and based on the advice of many medical and government bodies, for the first time in our dance school’s 41-year history, I am taking the unprecedented action of suspending all operations effective immediately:

a full and total shutdown of all lessons, performances and activities associated with our dance school.

With only 2 weeks left of this term, as well as the Term 1 holiday break and additional week of Greek Orthodox Holy Week and Easter, hopefully, our proactive approach to this situation will assist in suppressing the further spread of COVID-19.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our students and families for their understanding and support.  I take some comfort in knowing that our Term 1 “Season Opener” was our biggest to date, and that the events we did manage to participate in, were highly successful and memorable for all involved.  It is an absolutely deflating and somewhat devastating overtone to conclude with for now, but I have no doubt we will be back in action soon enough and busy working away on our next line-up of projects.
I would like to extend our appreciation to all local media, in particular our Greek media, newspapers and radio stations for their dissemination of constant, clear, concise and accurate updates.

Sincerely,
Dimosthenis Manasis
Director / Instructor
